If a person looses the mental capacity to make decisions about their property and financial affairs and/or their health and welfare and they have not left a valid lasting or enduring power of attorney their friends or family may seek a deputyship order to step in and assist them. Alternatively the court may appoint a court official to administer the incapacitated persons affairs.

Applying for a deputyship order is a long-winded and costly procedure. The ongoing regulatory requirements are also burdensome and so this should only be explored as a last resort. This option will incur a further fee of approximatly £500.00 in respect of the Court of Protection fee. You will be asked to supply your cheque for this amount by your Lakes Legal Limited advisor in due course.

Deputyship Order Application- Health and Welfare

Choose this option if you would like Lakes Legal Limited to prepare your deputyship order for health and welfare documentation, including the necessary application form, for your approval and signature. Following completion of the documentation Lakes Legal Limited will oversee the registration process. This is the complete deputyship order health and welfare package and will ensure that all of your deputyship order health and welfare requirements are met, all for a fixed fee of £400.00. This option will incur a further fee of approximately £500.00 in respect of the Court of Protection fee. You will be asked to supply your cheque for this amount by your Lakes Legal Limited advisor in due course.

Joint Deputyship Order Application- Property and Affairs & Health and Welfare

If you would like to prepare both your deputyship order for health and welfare and your deputyship order property and affairs choose this option. Lakes Legal Limited will prepare all of the documentation, including the necessary application forms, for your approval and signature. Following completion of the documentation Lakes Legal Limited will oversee the application process. This is the complete joint deputyship order package and will ensure that all of your deputyship order requirements are met, all for a discounted fixed fee of £600.00. This option will incur a further fee of approximately £1,000.00 in respect of the Court of Protection fees. You will be asked to supply your cheque for this amount by your Lakes Legal Limited advisor in due course.
